Harlem Community Fridge will have new house

Since the starting of the pandemic, a Harlem local community fridge served as a critical resource of food stuff for families in the community.  Now, organizers say it wants a new residence. It was back again in June of 2020 when PIX11 Information initial satisfied Sade Boyewa, a longtime local community activist and organizer.  Boyewa observed a need in her neighborhood and did a thing about it.  She began this local community fridge in Harlem.  It grew into a movement with dozens of volunteers feeding hundreds of men and women. For much more than two yrs, it was a beacon of hope and a position to entry fresh new produce and food stuff. The Harlem Local community Fridge sat on the corner of 116th Road and Manhattan Avenue. Boyewa reported the deli providing the sidewalk room informed her she now has to move.
