You may become sick of your home’s design after a few years. However, finding the time and money to do a large-scale renovation can be difficult. If you want a change but are worried about taking on a big project, consider completing one of these projects which only take a day.
Paint a Room
Changing the color of a room’s walls completely alters its appearance. Perhaps the yellow of your kitchen walls hurts your eyes, and you want to replace it with a cool blue. Or perhaps the mint green of your home office is too soothing for you to get any work done. Whatever the reason, you can easily pick up brushes, rollers and a can of paint filled by an automatic drum filling machine. Even if you paint two coats and have to wait for the first to dry, the average room can easily be painted in one day.
Move Your Furniture
This option does not require you to purchase anything, besides perhaps some supplies for cleaning up all the dust you will stir up. If you need a change of your home’s layout, try switching around some of your furniture. You could move a sofa from one wall to another, or you could move it from room to room. Swap carpets, curtains and other accent pieces to create new color schemes. While you might make a mess, this project is easy to start and stop depending on how busy you are.
Redo Your Décor
Sometimes you don’t need to adjust the biggest parts of your house to make a difference. Update your picture frames with more current photos or add retro family photos. You can alternate other decorations between rooms, particularly ones that your guests do not see, or you can make a trip to the store to find new ones.
Don’t settle for being tired of the way your house looks. It’s your house; make it look the way you want it to.
