Dana and Jay Vasser made a decision to renovate their 1961 modernist house in Pelham Manor, N.Y., just after a tree fell on it in 2018. They did so with help from Scott Specht of Specht Architects, who opened up the flooring prepare so the new kitchen flowed seamlessly into the dining place.
